How much roof space is needed for a solar installation?
As a general rule, you need approximately 10 sq. ft. of shadow-free roof space per 100 watts of solar capacity. A typical 5 kW residential system requires around 500 sq. ft. (roughly 46 m²).
What is the lifespan of a solar PV system?
Tier-1 monocrystalline panels carry a 25-year linear power output warranty and typically operate for 30+ years. Inverters generally last 10–15 years.
Is regular maintenance required?
Yes — dust accumulation alone can reduce output by 15–25% within a few months. Our quarterly maintenance covers panel cleaning, torque checks, inverter diagnostics, and thermal imaging.
What happens during a grid power cut?
A standard grid-tied system automatically shuts down for safety. If you need backup power, we recommend a hybrid system with battery storage.
Are there government subsidies available?
Yes. Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, residential consumers receive subsidies of ₹30,000 to ₹78,000. Commercial installations qualify for 40% accelerated depreciation.
